2020: The Year of Living Courageously and Creatively
As 2020 ends, it’s a good time to reflect on the progress Milesbrand has made, the challenges we overcame, and all the positives that have blessed our team this year.
2020 started off quickly at The International Builder Show with a three-hour master session on “Branding for Builders” presented by Milesbrand to rave participant reviews. One day later, Milesbrand won its 113th Gold National Award: Best Builder Brochure for Thomas James Homes. We just learned that Milesbrand has 12 Silver finalists for the 2021 Nationals Awards, including nine for Solstice, a top-selling new community from Shea Homes in Littleton, Colorado that we launched in January 2020.
In March, our “Work-From-Home Wednesday” policy became full-time as we made a seamless transition in response to courageously living through a pandemic. One of the year’s true bright spots occurred later in March when our Director of Business Development, Genevieve Benson, gave birth to her first child, Claire.
Even as uncertainty ruled the day, every Milesbrander knew exactly how the company was performing, thanks to our long-standing practice of open-book management. Reviewing our income statement and balance sheet weekly informed each team member that the company was profitable, that we were growing, and that no job was in danger. What a blessing.
Only one word can express how we feel about 2020: gratitude — to our families, to our Milesbrand team members, to our clients, and to the wonderful industry we are fortunate to work within.
Thank you all!
